Do Zosi wireless security cameras need Internet?

If you're using a camera that records to the cloud, then it will require the internet to function. However, if your cameras can record to an SD card, hard drive, or local network storage, then they should be able to function even if they're not connected to the internet.

What is the difference between Wi-Fi and wireless security cameras?

A wireless home security camera, also known as a Wi-Fi camera, transmits its footage over Wi-Fi and is powered by DC power. This means it must be plugged into an outlet using a power cable. A wireless camera isn't wire-free; rather, it's called a wireless camera because it uses wireless internet (Wi-Fi).

Do Zosi wireless cameras need power?

Zosi C291 & C306 wirless battery camera do not need to be connected to a power source to function. Most of the Zosi wireless camera still need to be connected to a power source to function, they are not 100% wireless.

Where are the recordings stored? Is NVR a must?

Zosi wifi camera can work without an NVR. When it works without an NVR, the recordings can be saved to the memory card or ZOSI Cloud. When it works with an NVR, the recordings can be saved to the NVR.

Do I need a subscription to use the camera or NVR system?

No, you don't need subscription and any extra fees to use the camera and NVR system, including all the functions like live view, playback,and AI person & vehicle detection.

Do smart home cameras need Wi-Fi to work?

Yes, ZOSI smart home cameras require Wi-Fi for setup, live viewing, notifications, and remote access. However, select models can record locally to a SD card even without Wi-Fi. Keep in mind – you'll need an internet connection to access footage from your phone or receive motion alerts.

Can I mix different ZOSI smart home devices together?

Yes. Many ZOSI smart home devices can be managed together within the same ZOSI app – giving you a unified view and control of your entire home security system from one place.

Where not to install security cameras?

Avoid placing security cameras in private areas where people reasonably expect privacy, such as bathrooms, bedrooms, or inside changing areas. Outdoors, do not position cameras directly into your neighbor’s windows or private spaces, as this can violate local privacy laws.
